In this episode of Tascha Labs podcast, I talk to Sreeram Kannan, founder of EigenLayer, about a new Ethereum staking modality called “re-staking”. This is a new innovation that can help scale a proof-of-stake ecosystem by improving the system’s capital efficiency.
Lots of interesting and potentially complex economic implications for the Ethereum platform can happen if this type of new regime gets adopted widely. We’ll dig into much of that in this conversation.

I made a new year’s gift for you!
This simple web3 platform valuation tool helps you quickly estimate how much a blockchain (or other similar types of web3 platform) is worth given its traction level & crypto market condition.
This episode of Tascha Labs podcast gives a quick walkthrough of how to use this tool to valuate an Ethereum L2 like Arbitrum.

One day last year I was debating with a dear friend– who’s a bit of an ethereum maxi– about Ethereum vs other L1s.
He said, “Once Eth L2 rollups are up and running, cost and speed advantages of other L1s won’t exist anymore.”
I said, “I’m bullish on Eth L2s as well. But nothing’s stopping other L1s to also have rollups. You can have layer 2s on, say, Solana!”
Honestly though, I didn’t expect L2 for Solana to be happening, at least not soon. But web3 moves at warp speed– Solana L2 is a real thing now.
In this episode of Tascha Labs podcast I talk with Kevin Lim, founder of Nitro Labs, who’s building the first Solana virtual machine (SVM) scaling solution in Cosmos.
This conversation happened at an interesting time though– right after the FTX collapse which created something of an existential crisis for Solana. So I was keen to get Kevin’s take on the situation, even though I had my prior assumptions (https://taschalabs.com/my-top-3-l1-l2-investment-themes-for-the-beginning-of-next-cycle/).
Are we both biased? Yes. Though as always, you should be happy that there are people who bias in a different direction than you. At the end of day, that’s what makes a market possible.

After I wrote about my thoughts on sports fan tokens recently (https://taschalabs.com/fan-tokens-new-ponzi-or-new-paradigm/), Alex Dreyfus, who is the CEO of Socios, the largest fan token platform in the world, reached out.
He told me I'm biased and some of my views are not correct. That's nice to hear :)

A common criticism of current web3 landscape is a lack of “real world” use cases and successful applications beyond ponzi-nomic vaporware.
That’s why on today’s Tascha Labs podcast I’m super excited to chat with founders of Sweatcoin— a consumer company that has leveraged a web3 business model to get to 100 million+ users and continues to grow.
If you’re a web3 founder, this is a must listen as we go through every aspect of getting Sweatcoin off the ground, from tokenomics to growth strategy to common pitfalls of crypto projects.
If you’re an investor, this conversation will inspire you as to what’s possible and what’s yet to come in the web3 economy.
Also check out the 7 lessons from Sweatcoin on how to use tokenization to drive growth. https://taschalabs.com/how-to-use-tokenization-for-business-growth-7-lessons-from-a-successful-project/
